Envelopes
Create, manage, and track envelopes through the signing lifecycle.
Envelope Statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being prepared -- not yet sent to recipients |
| Pending | Sent to recipients, awaiting signatures |
| Completed | All recipients have signed or approved |
| Rejected | A recipient rejected the envelope |
| Failed | Processing failed |
Creating an Envelope
The envelope editor is a 3-step wizard:
- General Settings -- title, tags, workflow mode (sequential or parallel), email notification preference, and signer verification method
- Invite Signers -- add recipients with role, signature method, and order
- Field Placement -- drag-and-drop fields onto PDF pages, assign them to recipients
Email Notification Preference
In the General Settings step you can choose when recipients receive email notifications:
- All Emails (default) -- emails are sent at every step: signing requests, next-signer alerts, reminders, and completion
- Completion Only -- recipients only receive an email when the envelope is fully completed by all signers
- No Emails -- no email notifications are sent to recipients at any point
This setting applies to the entire envelope. Signers can still access the signing link if you share it with them directly.
Envelope Views
The Envelopes page lets you filter by tab:
- All -- every envelope
- Sent -- envelopes you created and sent
- Received -- envelopes sent to you for signing
You can also search by title and filter by status.
Viewing an Envelope
Click any envelope to view its details, including:
- Current status and signing progress
- Recipient list with individual statuses
- Envelope activity log with timestamps and IP addresses
Downloading
Once an envelope is completed, you can download the signed PDF with all signatures embedded and a digital certificate.
Activity Log
Every envelope maintains a full audit trail:
- Envelope created, sent, viewed, signed events
- Timestamps and IP addresses for each action
- Exportable as a PDF report
